Unfortunately, the original owners have moved on and the Dairy Maid has been closed for a good couple of months "for paint and repairs". I truly miss this place and all of their great food! I hope they open back up soon, just call before you go out of your way.

My family travels every year from New Jersey to spend our summer vacation in Myrtle Beach. On our first trip in 2007 we came across Diary Maid and decided it was good place for a short break. Ever since this has become a ritual stop for us. We now stop there on the way to MB and on the way home, regardless of what time it is. If it is near lunch time, we stop and have lunch, if not we stop just for ice cream or a milk shake. The ice cream is great, the milk shakes are great and the food is always made fresh. And you can't beat the prices. We have even ruled out trying a different route because it would bypass Dairy Maid. And to second the remark by Brandon R, even the 50 year old bathroom in the gas station next door that you have to use is actually pretty clean once you get over how old it is. We love this place.

If you happen to get lost while driving from Myrtle Beach up to Raleigh you may stumble upon the cute and quaint fast food joint known as the Dairy Maid. It's like there version of Suzies, but with tables and half the menu. Thick milk shakes, greasy burgers and chili cheese fries that can kill. Dairy maid leaves you full, smiling and ready to get out of North Carolina and get back on the highway. Cute little place, where you'll hear a lot of talk about "I thought you'd be on your second baby by now" and "ma'am"
